Swamp Thing, by Phillip Ginn
From 2015’s Inktober, this Swamp Thing piece is a nod to legendary artist Bernie Wrightson. I, of course, referred to his seminal work on the character. 8.5×11 Strathmore 500 2-ply Bristol board done with dip pen, brush, and archival Koh-I-Noor ink.
Inktober was created in 2009 by artist Jake Parker. His goal was to challenge himself to improve his inking skills and work on developing better drawing habits. Since then, many illustrators around the world participate in Inktober, drawing as many ink drawings as they can – the standard being one a day – throughout October, and they share their work via social media.
