Description
Beetlejuice, by Phillip Ginn
Another Inktober 2015 illustration. Who doesn’t love Beetlejuice? This was fun experimenting with inkwash, something I don’t use a lot of in my finished work, playing with the fading values from mid-ground to background and trying to figure out how to make ominous clouds. It all makes Beetlejuice pop out of the scene. I used to have a big crush on Lydia, so I liked adding her in there.
Done with a Maru dip pen and Koh-I-Noor drawink ink and inkwash on Strathmore 500 2-ply Bristol board.
Inktober was created in 2009 by artist Jake Parker. His goal was to challenge himself to improve his inking skills and work on developing better drawing habits. Since then, many illustrators around the world participate in Inktober, drawing as many ink drawings as they can – the standard being one a day – throughout October, and they share their work via social media.
