Based on a climactic (yet spoiler-free) moment from Akira Kurosawa’s “Yoijimbo”, this film study interprets the tense confrontation before a one-on-many battle. Representational yet still impressionistic, this study uses the gorgeous lighting and composition Kurosawa is known for while emphasizing the contrast between light and dark values.
