In 2009, I was trying to get back in into a regular routine making comics. I was putting myself through exercises, writing and drawing shorts, and even had plans to do a short graphic novel. But I needed another exercise.
I emailed David Hopkins asking him if he had anything written just lying around waiting to get drawn. Fighting David Parrot was a short story that was originally supposed to be illustrated by another artist. In fact, I remember the episode of Fanboy Radio where he and the artist talked about the story. Unfortunately, the artist couldn’t complete it. He sent it to me, and I jammed it out. It was incredibly fun to draw and I’m really proud of how everything turned out.
